we are ships

sailing our seas

calm, stormy, dark

our systems power us

keep our voyages going

when they fail

we have damage control to put things right

this is sometimes not enough

and we stop

or explode

or roll over and sink

or are stowed away to rust

but before that inevitable end

remember

ships are meant to sail

and so are we
